About Us

New Leaf Business Solutions Ltd was established at the beginning of 2005 by Alan Harris near Luton on the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire border. After over 25 years working in the IT Departments of large companies, Alan decided to create a consultancy company that would concentrate on helping small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) with their use of IT and the Internet. To help achieve this the company works with development partners to provide products ideally suited to help SMEs with the development and management of web sites and internal “intranets”.

After starting in IT as a computer programmer, Alan has also spent many years as an analyst, project manager and IT manager for a number of multi-million pound companies and for about 15 years had permanent roles within the UK Construction Industry for 2 large contractors, Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd and Vinci Plc.

In 2004 Alan became a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner to formalise his project management expertise.

Alan has been involved in the implementation of many large software packages, covering Accounts & Finance, Project Costing, Payroll and Human Resources. He has also been involved in the implementation of groupware/intranet systems, Document Management and Management Reporting systems and has a lot of experience in database design and management.

After doing some work for a construction software supplier, Causeway Technology, Alan has more recently done some consultancy work for two other large construction companies, WS Atkins and GB Building Solutions who both needed project management assistance with a new complex reporting system.
